The full name of SMS Hospital Jaipur is Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Situated in the city of Jaipur, this Sawai Man Singh Hospital is a government hospital which is equipped with all the state-of-the-art facilities. This hospital was constructed in the year 1934 and was named after the then Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. A large number of patients come here daily. More than 1500 doctors serve in this hospital, if we talk about nurses, then their number is more than 4000.
To provide health facilities to the patients visiting here, this hospital has been equipped with more than 6200 beds which are spread over 43 different wards. A huge number of surgeries are done here daily by doctors. More than 10000 people come to this hospital every day to take advantage of OPD facility. Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Semi Intensive Care Unit (Semi ICU) facility is also available in this hospital. Where there are 168 beds in ICU, 51 beds are in service in Semi ICU.
With the passage of time, the number of ear, nose and throat patients in the hospital increased rapidly. Due to this they were facing problems. To overcome this problem, the state government of Rajasthan established a separate department of ENT in 2008, while Vasundhara Raje's chief minister was named "Charak Bhawan". This department was established by the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
